If there`s one thing that these ACBC meetings have taught us, it`s to open ourselves to speaking about ALL topics on these work trips. It doesn`t have to be shop talk all trip long. Some of the members have become life-long friends by doing this!

It`s the easiest way, during tight agenda meetings, to find out about someone`s cultures, the difference in the way they live compared to you, what vacation destinations must be on your bucket list, a book that you should add to your library, or where they suggest the best place to get BBQ, Vietnamese or Mexican food is!

Opening ourselves to much more than work topics truly enriches each work trip, and because of that, we`re always learning, even outside the industry. They`re never boring...in fact, we look forward to them!

First of all, do you know the name of what this ceiling treatment is called?

This hallway currently has three groin vaults. They are common in Spanish and Mediterranean-style homes. They can be as large as a room, or in smaller sections like this hallway. Now, let us first say, we LOVE THEM. We are usually itching to put them into a design.

BUT!

They require more details than just "put one here". They require pre-design decisions, especially in smaller areas like this. For example...we could ask, is the door going to swing into the hallway and hit the light, now that it`s lower? Can we even put the light you want there because of the happy at the point of the groin? How the heck can we put HVAC pipes through this hall - well we can`t!

Regardless, it`s never enough to not recommend them. They`re beautiful and we know exactly how to deal with them! 🤗
